I was trying to work out how old one of my neighbours was as she told me about her plans to move house. She has white hair but very good skin… She had been looking at a house that needed a lot of work and money spent on it. Then someone advised her against it, saying that it was silly to take on a project like that “at your age”. Now those are chilling words “at your age” and ones you don’t want to hear. They are a sign that you are getting old (or at least look as though you are.) Yes, it is mad to move into a house that will drain your savings and your energy, but if you can afford it and the idea excites you, then go for it.
